It's been a rough year, I was laid off again.
Due to budget cuts in education, I was non-renewed.
Edgewood ISD let all first year teachers go. I was laid off the
day after I poured my slab. Talk about putting your life into a
I have been interviewing for a job with FedEx
Freight. I have taken different test, and if my background check
comes back clean, they said I should get an offer of employment. I
am praying...for a yes!
I was laid off last year in June of 2010 and then
again this year, April of 2011. It has been tough on my pride.
On June 6, 2011, I was offered the position at FedEx Freight. They
wanted me to start on June 7, 2011. I am very thankful to have a
job. This seems like it is really going to be a good job. I
like the job, the people, and the benefits. We are in the middle
of building our house also. I am the general contractor as well as
doing most of the work myself.
On, September 12, 2011, I started my new bid with FedEx Freight.
My start time is 10:00 am. My route is Carrollton, Texas a suburb
of Dallas. I love it! This is by far the best benefits I
have ever had. The pay is great. The working conditions are
very good. There are a lot of drivers that grip about the job, but
they haven't been laid off and seen what other jobs are out there, or
the lack of jobs that are out there.

We don't want Kalee to have to keep driving 45 minutes each way.
January 15, 2012, we are done with the house!!! It is complete!!!
Thank you Lord for giving us the ability and the patience to build this
January 22, 2012, I planted over 1,000 Loblolly Pine Trees on my 3
acres...well my step dad, Terry Hofer, helped me plant them.
January 28, 2012, I finished planting the Pine Trees. 1,178 is the
total trees planted. Now, we just need rain, sun, and time.
They are suppose to grow 3 to 5 feet a year. In 3 years I should
have a good privacy barrier and wind break. That is the plan,
